Today every man, women, and child in the U.S. owes $134,685 and every family’s Federal Government’s liability is $683,000. That is more than the average person saves in a lifetime. In a CNN Professor Kotlikoff calculated that   the American politicians and bureaucrats have run up a 211 trillion dollar debt.

The real debt includes all the on-budget debt, off-budget debt, and all the government’s liability for promised benefits like Social Security, GI benefits, government retirements, Medicaid and Medicare, signed contracts, and massive interest payments on the debt. So the total debt is estimated at the 211 trillion, an amount so infinitely large that virtually nobody in the world believes that America can pay it off. Europe’s debt is even more catastrophic than America’s debt, and Europe’s debt, as we have seen, has come due.

Americans must also factor in the state, city, county, and local town debt. Forty-eight of the fifty states are hopelessly in debt; many local county and city governments are bankrupt as well. Even if we all concede that the government is incapable of paying its current debt, we must all prepare for the default of any continuing obligation of the government like Social Security or government pensions.

2012 will be an interesting year. All of Western civilization is poised to collapse. The economic apocalypse is here. Are you ready?
